Sherryn Aggelis

Sherryn coaches our Intermediate team and is also an Assistant coach to our Tinies team.

Sherryn has achieved and enjoyed much success including:

  • Level 1 Accreditation – Australian Calisthenics Federation
  • Member of Victorian State Team for 11 years – both as a pupil and coach
  • Winner of the National Championship on several occasions
  • 1994 – Graceful Girl Winner – Royal South Street
  • 1985 – Junior Champion Girl
  • 1990 – Champion Girl
  • Solo coach
  • Life Member

Sherryn enjoys spending time with her family and watching movies. Her daughter Jemma is a member of our Sub Junior Team.

 

Joanne Barton

Jo has coached our Tinies team since 2006.

Commencing as a pupil at Avonde in 1966, Jo has continued a successful career in calisthenics achieving the following:

  • 1976 – Commenced coaching career
  • 1981 – Best Club Girl
  • Level 1 Accreditation – Australian Calisthenics Federation
  • 2014 – Norm Plant Memorial Trophy winner
  • Solo Coach
  • Mentor Coach
  • Vice President Club Committee – Avonde Calisthenics College Inc.
  • Life Member

Jo has completed a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) & Diploma of Education (Secondary) and works full time as a teacher of VCE Accounting, as well as being part of the leadership team as VCE Co-ordinator.

Jo enjoys travelling, spending time with family and friends, designing costumes for her pupils and is active in supporting all of our coaches and club.

Jo has a daughter Isabelle, who is a member of our Senior team and is also a Cadet coach.

 

Lara Davitt

Lara has been the coach of the Masters team for 5 years and has also coached our Senior and Intermediate teams during her calisthenics career.

Lara has achieved and enjoyed success including:

  • Coaching the Masters to CVI State Champions in 2015.
  • Level 1 Accreditation – Australian Calisthenics Federation
  • 1986 – Junior Champion Girl
  • 1991 – Champion Girl
  • 1993 – Graceful Girl winner – Royal South Street
  • Member of Victorian State team
  • Solo coach
  • Life Member

Lara is a mother of one and works full time as the Director of People & Culture for ZircoDATA.

 

Carly Harrison

Carly is our Junior team coach and has been involved with the club for many years and has enjoyed success including the following:

  • Level 1 Accreditation – Australian Calisthenics Federation
  • 2002 – Junior Champion Girl
  • 2007 – Champion Girl
  • 2013 –Inters Victorian State Team Assistant Coach
  • 2015 – Champion Girl
  • 2008, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2014 & 2015 – Finalist- Graceful Girl – Royal South Street

  • Life Member

Carly works as an Occupational Rehabilitation Counsellor and is currently studying for her PHD – Wellness and Injury in Professional Ballet. In addition, Carly is an Associate Lecturer at La Trobe University and enjoys going to the beach, reading and listening to pod casts about true crime and is a member of our Senior team.

Carly’s sister Lauren, is also part of our coaching team at Avonde.

 

Lauren Harrison

Lauren is one of the coaches of our Sub Junior team and also is a Senior team member.  Lauren has achieved much success including the following:

  • Level 1 Accreditation– Australian Calisthenics Federation
  • 2005 – Junior Champion Girl
  • 2010 – Champion Girl
  • Solo Coach
  • Life Member

Lauren has completed her studies in Masters of Secondary Teaching, majoring in Psychology & Student Wellbeing.  Her interests include musical theatre, calisthenics and examining the world of psychology.  Lauren looks forward to travelling.

 

Erin Lofts

Erin is one of our Sub Junior coaches and also is a member of our Senior team.  Erin has been a member of Avonde for 18 years, during which time she has achieved the following:

  • Level 1 Accreditation – Australian Calisthenics Federation
  • 2009 – Best Club Girl
  • Life member

 

Erin works as a Primary school teacher, teaching Grade Prep and enjoys camping and spending time with her new puppy “Evie”.

 

Samantha Lukey

Sammi is the coach of our Senior team and also is actively involved in coaching our Junior and Sub Junior teams.

Sammi has achieved an extensive variety of success including:

  • Level 1 Accreditation – Australian Calisthenics Federation
  • 1997 – Member of Sub Junior State Team – National Winners
  • 1998 – Winner Solo State Title – CVI
  • 2000 – Member of Junior State Team – National Winners
  • 2001 – Junior Champion Girl
  • 2009 –Champion Girl
  • 2009 – Member of Senior State Team – Runners up – National
  • 2014 – Victorian State Team Coach– Sub Junior
  • 2015 – Victorian State Team Coach – Juniors – National Winners
  • 2016 – CVI – Elite Performance Program – Coached and escorted the group to the USA on behalf of Calisthenics Victoria.

Sammi has been involved with Avonde from the age of 2 years old and is the daughter of Diane Lukey, who is also part of our coaching team at Avonde.

Sammi works full time as a Technical Specialist, assisting those who need assistance to get back into the workforce after injury. In her spare time Sammi enjoys relaxing and spending time with friends and family.

 

Sharon McCrorie

Sharon is an Assistant Coach to our Seniors and also a Specialist Skills coach.  Sharon has over 40 years of service to our club and has achieved the following:

  • 1976 – Most Improved Girl
  • 1981 – Champion Girl
  • Level 1 Accreditation – Australian Calisthenics Federation
  • Life Member
  • Member of the Australian Society of Calisthenics Adjudicators
  • Solo Coach  and  coach of winner of Royal South Street Graceful Girl
  • Club Mentor

Sharon enjoys going to the ballet, theatre, reading, walking her dog, going on family holidays and dining out at Melbourne’s fabulous restaurants.
